Volume 15.2 ✧ Summer 25
Dale Going & Marie Carbone
These poems are from a decades-long hybrid collaborative project pairing Dale Going's poems with Marie Carbone's collage art. Created in intentional or accidental relationship to each other, the poems and collages are not equivalences or illustrations of their partnered art; they are extensions of a conversation, a palimpsest in which the writer and artist often speak over each other or at cross-purposes to make new meanings.
NOTE
MARIE CARBONE is a multi-disciplinary visual artist and musician. Her collage art has appeared in exhibitions at the Berkeley Art Center and other San Francisco Bay Area venues, in literary journals, as book covers, broadsides, artists' books, and projections for poetry readings and poets' theater performances. As a classical pianist, harpsichordist, and music educator, her particular interest is the music of women composers. She has composed and performed soundtracks and soundscapes for film, theater, museum exhibitions, modern dance, and ballet. She lives in Sausalito, CA.
