The pope lifted up his robe a little
and showed off his boot.
Then he asked if I would like
to go on a date immediately.
‘You and me,’ I asked,
‘Isn’t that a conflict of interest?’
The pope insisted no one would care.
I said I’d rather do it somewhere
more public like a food court.
We were in an airplane.
We were on the last flight out.
Then my nose bled immediately
and he wiped away the blood.
That is how our love story starts.
